The Taskforce Detainees of the Philippines was established in the year 1972, at the height of Marcos’s political repression and terror. Its main focus is on protecting the rights of political prisoners including awareness of human rights in Philippines. Today, its main activity is in the area of campaigns for political prisoners, the fight for justice, freedom from torture and educational assistance for the poor. |
